Jasperina Cornelia (van den Berg) Goedhart, 88, passed away on Feb. 7, 2013, at Bethany Home in Ripon, CA.

She was born on Sept. 7, 1924, in Rotterdam, Netherlands, to Hendrik and Teunje van den Berg, where she was raised until she moved to California in 1949 to marry Simon Goedhart, who preceded her in death in 1998. They were married for 48 years.

She was the fourth child in a family of 11 children, of which nine are still living, two in Canada and seven in the Netherlands. She was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family and working with her family in the almond orchard. She liked to travel back to the Netherlands to visit family and friends.

She was a member of the Escalon Christian Reformed Church and had a strong faith in the Lord. She resided at Bethany Home for the last 11 years and had a smile that brightened everyone's day.

Survivors include her children, Gilbert (Ava) Goedhart, Betty Vierra, Henry (Linda) Goedhart, Tanya (Dennis) Hegoas, Rena (Peter) de Visser and Nellie (Gary) Vian; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Sammy Goedhart.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Feb. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Escalon Christian Reformed Church followed by a burial at Burwood Cemetery.
