Irma Ann Bailey passed away peacefully on Feb. 24, 2017 in Hughson, CA at the age of 93. Irma was born on Oct. 27, 1923 to parents, Louis and Giovanna Betti in Escalon. She remained an Escalon resident her entire life. Irma worked for over 40 years in the office at Escalon Packers. She was a charter member of Our Lady of Fatima Y.L.I and a charter member of the Escalon Historical Society. Irma was also a member of the Goodtime Accordion Club and a lifetime parishioner of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Above all else, Irma loved her family, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother that will be dearly missed.
Irma leaves behind her daughter, Deanna Miles of Riverbank, her grandchildren; Megan Bailey, Angela Bailey, Craig Bailey, Wes Bailey, Amy Bryant and Kristi Salazar along with 14 great grandchildren. Irma also leaves behind her siblings; Robert Bennett of Redlands, Guido Betti of Castro Valley, Leo Betti of Oroville, Evelyn Swass of Escalon and Bob Betti of Santa Cruz. Irma is preceded in death by her husband, Tom Bailey and her son, Dennis Bailey.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapel. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 1 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Deegan Chapel in Escalon. A rosary is scheduled for Thursday, March 2 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Escalon. Donations in Irma’s memory may be made to Escalon Museum Mural Fund: 1630 Main Street, Escalon or Community Hospice: 4368 Spyres Way Modesto.
