Henry Simon Goedhart was born November 28, 1953, and went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2020.
He was born in Artesia, CA to Simon and Jasperina Goedhart. Henry graduated from Oakdale High School in 1972. Henry married Linda (deGraaf) in 1981, and they lived in Escalon, CA, sharing their lives by generously serving the community through sports, church and car washes.
He was a long time member of Escalon Christian Reformed Church.
Henry loved to work hard. For over 45 years he owned and operated several car washes. Cleaning and maintaining his car washes was his pride and joy. Henry had an incredible work ethic and enjoyed getting up early to work. He enjoyed talking with customers, handing out quarters, and cleaning the stalls. He also drove a hay squeeze for over 50 years.
Henry was an avid sports fan, loved basketball, and never missed any of his sons’ games. He loved going to ball games and on a yearly baseball trip with his friends.
Henry is survived by his wife Linda of 39 years, and sons Guy and Grant; his siblings Gilbert Goedhart (Ava), Betty Vierra, Tanya Hegoas (Dennis), Rena deVisser (Peter) and Nellie Vian (Gary); as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Sammy Goedhart.
Private services will be held to celebrate Henry’s life. Donations may be sent in Henry’s name to Escalon Christian Reformed Church, 2203 California Street, Escalon, CA 95320.
