Heidi Boesch Brunk, 45, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Aug. 10 in Oakdale. She was injured by a fall during a get together at her home while participating in a recreational activity. She was surrounded by family and friends when the accident occurred.

Born in 1963 to Ernie and Elsie Boesch, she was raised in Ripon, where she attended elementary and high school, graduating in 1981. She began her college education at CSU Stanislaus and received her B.A. in Music from Dominican University in San Rafael.

She returned to Ripon where she worked at her parent's family business, Ripon Manufacturing Company. During that time, she met, fell in love, and married James Brunk of Oakdale in 1992, making their home in Oakdale. She and her husband became the owners of Brunk Industries in Oakdale soon after their marriage. Over the years, they led a very active and social life, where fellowship with friends and family was a central focus of their life together.

She was very involved in many organizations and groups in her community including: member of local band, "Remedy," and local singing trio, "The Songbirds." Over the years, she was a participant of Ernie Bucio's Little Big Band, San Joaquin County Swiss Echoes, San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club, Children's Christmas Shopping Tour, American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Children's Crisis Center, Society for the Handicapped, and Oakdale Women's Softball League.

Additionally, she was involved in her children's school, Sierra View Elementary, and coached many of their baseball, softball, and soccer teams, in addition to supporting dance and singing programs.

She is survived by her husband, James Brunk of Oakdale; her beloved children, Preston, 11 and Shelbi, 8; her parents, Ernie and Elsie Boesch of Escalon; her sisters, Ruth Boesch of Ripon, Ursula (Glenn) Boesch-Navarro of Denair; parents-in law, John and Jeanne Brunk of Groveland, brothers-in-law, Kevin (Cheryl) Brunk of Oakdale, Brian (Shandell) Brunk of Prunedale, Daniel (Sally) Brunk of Littleton, CO; many nieces and nephews, Andre and Alana Navarro, John Tyler Brunk and Kristen Brunk, Cassady Healy Brunk, Sienna Riley Brunk, Salem and Carter Brunk.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 15 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oakdale, with a reception immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Heidi Brunk Music Scholarship Fund, c/o WestAmerica Bank, 1524 McHenry Ave., Modesto, CA 95350, or any of the charitable organizations listed above.
