Fredric Maurice Werner, 70, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.

He was born on Dec. 30, 1937 to Fred and Geneva Werner in French Camp.

An Escalon resident for 37 years, he owned a TV and electronic business "Fred's TV" in Escalon for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and also camping, fishing, and traveling with his wife in their trailer. When his children were younger he was very active with the Boy Scouts and enjoyed the camping trips and outings. He was also involved with the PTSA at the high school, running the snack bar on the visitor's side for 14 years.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Barbara; children, Chris of Escalon, Steve (Tish) of Ector Texas, Karen of Escalon, and Brian (Susan) of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren James of Bedford Texas, David of Oklahoma, Nicholas of Davis, Monica of Modesto, BreAna and Wyatt, both of Huntsville, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard.

A memorial service was held Monday, March 24 at Escalon United Methodist Church.

In loving memory donations can be made to the American Heart Association, Escalon Community Ambulance or to Community Hospice.
