Eric Harvey, 38, passed away Sunday, April 2 at DMC surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on Sept. 29, 1972 in Modesto, where he lived most of his life. He attended school in Ceres and graduated from Escalon High School in 1990.

He married his best friend, Monica Olivas in 2003. He was employed as a cable installer until a severe injury from a motorcycle accident left him unable to work. He then resided in the country with his wife, family, and the many animals that he loved.

Mr. Harvey loved adventure. Before his accident BMX was one of his main interests. He was an avid snowboarder, skateboarder, water-skier, and enjoyed camping with his family and friends at Melones Resevoir. His favorite pastime was fishing at his grandmother's cabin in Strawberry.

He will forever be remembered for his big heart, his wonderful dry and subtle sense of humor, his great love for animals, and all the help he gave to others.

Survivors include his wife, Monica Olivas Harvey; his parents, Earnie and Nancy Harvey of Modesto; his sister, Andrea (Adam) Austin of Modesto; his grandmother, Gladys Cohagan of Ripon; and his grandfather, Jack Harvey of Modesto; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and his niece and nephew, Emalee and Hunter Austin.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather (Papa), Jerry Cohagan, and paternal grandmother, Helen Harvey.

A private Memorial Service will be held at the Escalon Methodist Church.
