Escalon, California - Durward A. Yorston, age 76, son of the late Richard A. Yorston and Charlene Acker Yorston passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

Mr. Yorston is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gloria and three children: Shawn Yorston, Bret Raymer, Clint Raymer (Jennifer). He also left behind a granddaughter: Shawnna Wheat (Joel), and three great grandchildren: Dominic Wheat, Aubree Wheat, and Oliver Wheat; and sister Lorinda Yorston.

Ward was born November 21, 1946, in Los Angeles, California and graduated from John Marshall High School Class Of 1964. He enlisted in the US ARMY 1966 where he was Staff Sergeant (SSG), and Drill Sergeant. In his early years he learned his passions for music, golf, tennis and traveling. Ward was an accomplished guitarist and singer.

He traveled around the country with his wife and family playing music.

He began his journey in the Auto business in 1976. He spent over 40 years with local dealerships: Central Valley Chrysler, Rule-Dale Auto Plaza, and Roberts Auto Sales. Ward passed suddenly at home. Ward was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, and Businessman. He is loved and will be missed by many.

Services will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on May 4, 2023, at 2 p.m., 32053 McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA 95322. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
