Duane R. Eliason, age 86 died on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Ingleside Nursing Home.
He was born March 13, 1931 in Escalon, California to Ralph and Linnea (Johnson) Eliason.
Duane was united in marriage to Margaret L. Berg on June 30, 1956 in Turlock, California. He was a US Air Force veteran. He worked for the US Postal Service for many years. He was a pilot and a talented wood carver. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Verona, WI and formerly of Saron Lutheran Church in Escalon, California.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; daughter, Rebekah (Ludwig) Simmet of Verona; grandchildren, Heidi (Nadeem) Afghan, Leah (fiancé: Rama Meyers) Simmet, and Sophia (Michael) Thomas; great-grandchildren, Amelia and Benjamin Simmet; Esther, Trenton, and Trinity Thomas, daughter-in-law; Hildegard Eliason of Oregon, WI; sister, Jean Adams of Oregon State; two brothers, Bruce (Jeanette) Eliason of Oregon State, Donald (Elsa) Eliason of California; a brother-in-law, Marshall Berg of Middleton; as well as, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ronald Eliason; and great-grandson, Nicholas Thomas.
A celebration service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. James Lutheran Church in Verona, WI with Rev. Peter Narum officiating. The Ellestad Camacho Funeral Home is assisting the family.
