Dorothy Mae Elsholz, 80, passed away in Modesto on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1933 and was raised around the Escalon area where she owned an almond and grape ranch. Dorothy also worked at Collegeville Market and Clutch and Brake Exchange for many years.

She was the daughter of Robert and Freda Howard, also of Escalon. She enjoyed camping at Cat Creek and often attended the Cowboy Poetry Concerts at Gardnerville.

Survivors include her son Jim and Pam Elsholz of Escalon; daughter Vicki Cardoza of Ione; sister Ginger Scheffel of Linden; and brothers Ron and Don Howard of Brentwood and Galt; six grandchildren, Adam, Clint, Gary, Amanda, Emily and Michelle; and four great grandchildren, Cole, Bobby Ray, Kai, and Owen.

At her request there will be no funeral services but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
