David B. Ekholm, 71 of Sterling, IL died Tuesday September 5, 2017 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.He was born on May 3, 1946 in Hemet, CA the son of Paul Alexis and Margaret Bernadine (Brewster) Ekholm. David had served in Viet Nam with the US Army during the Viet Nam war.He married the former Cheryl Olson on April 12, 1979 in Dixon, IL.He worked as a truck driver for many years for various carriers most recently before retiring for Chuck Swanson from Prophetstown, IL. He was an avid golfer and a Chicago Bears fan. David was a member of the “Black Horse”, a Viet Nam veterans group.
