Carol Ann (Matthews) Avara, 64, of Escalon passed away due to cancer on Tuesday, July 22.
Born Sept. 28, 1943 in Asher, Oklahoma, she had lived in Escalon for 50 years.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. Loving and giving of herself, with her time and her love. She was a great person, and a great friend to all she knew. Everyone that knew her, loved her.
Survivors include her children, Curtis Avara of Oakdale and Denise Schulz of Escalon; grandchildren, Tiffany Davis, Jessica Schulz and Mallory Schulz, all of Escalon, Justin Avara of Riverbank, Logan Avara and Fallon Avara, both of Oakdale; siblings, Helen Fraser of Acampo, Dolores Madrano of Salida, Norma Tayahua and Michael Matthews, both of Modesto; father, Elmer Lee Matthews of Modesto; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday, July 28 at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin.
