Betty J. Hagan, 87, passed away on Friday, Dec. 25 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House.

She was born in Merced, California on March 26, 1922 and was raised in Fresno. It was there that she met the love of her life, Thomas Hagan. They married in 1941 with a marriage spanning over 68 years. In 1950 they moved to Escalon with their family and have lived there since, raising five children.

Mrs. Hagan was devoted to her family whom she loved deeply. Together Betty and Tom were a team, active in church and community, traveling, supporting and loving their large family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas; children, Carol Adams, Joan Prokes, Shirley Dornan, Frank Hagan, Lorie Macsenti and adopted son from Malaysia, Seng Goh; 13 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

A service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 6, at the Escalon Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers and in loving memory, donations may be sent to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356 or to the Escalon Presbyterian Church, 1612 First Street, Escalon, CA 95320.
