Registration is now live for the 2019 Great Valley Writing Camp in Escalon. This year’s program will be held weekdays from June 10 through June 22, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at Dent Elementary School and is opened to all TK through Eighth Grade students. Maintaining a 1:4 teacher to student ratio, this annual camp offers close personal attention and enrichment opportunities to all students. Camp participants learn new writing strategies, interact with personal mentors, and collaborate with peers.

You can see student work, photos, and comments from teachers and parents at last year’s website: http://writingcampescalon2018.weebly.com. This website is created each year by a publishing and photography class of middle and high school students working with a high school journalism teacher.

Eligible students can be registered at http://www.csustan.edu/gvwp/youth. If you have any questions, contact coordinator Sally Hale at 209-605-3895 or tommydanger@mac.com.

Scholarships are available and applications can be picked up at the Escalon public library starting April 1 and need to be completed and returned to the library by April 30.
