Winter Storm Warning In Effect Through Friday
NWS

A winter storm warning is in effect through early afternoon Friday, Feb. 24 throughout the region.

National Weather Service forecasters indicate that total snow accumulations of one to six inches are possible in the Northern Sacramento Valley, and along the western foothills of the Sacramento and Northern San Joaquin Valleys at or above 1000 feet. Winds may also be problematic, with gusts predicted to be as high as 50 mph.

Motorists in or traveling to the affected area should plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Highest snow accumulations are predicted along western foothills of the Central Valley.

If you must travel to the impacted area, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
