Wind Advisory Issued By Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a wind advisory, in effect through midnight tonight, March 4.

The affected areas include the Carquinez Strait, the Sacramento Delta and the Northern San Joaquin Valley.

West winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to 45 mph are expected.

A strong cold front is making its way across northern California this afternoon and evening, causing the strong westerly winds through the Carquinez Strait and Delta and into the Southern Sacramento Valley and Northern San Joaquin Valley.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Gusty winds could impact high profile vehicles.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
