Thanksgiving Dinner Planned For Residents

With Thanksgiving just around the corner – coming up next Thursday, Nov. 22, local residents are reminded that they don’t have to be alone for the holiday.

Escalon Ministerial Association, in cooperation with a core group of community volunteers, will be putting on the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner, free to all, on Thanksgiving Day.

Meals will be served at the city’s Community Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 22. There will also be home delivery of meals to those who can’t get to the Community Center and take-out meals will be available.

The family-style gathering is open to everyone in the community. Diners can enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, salad and more, along with pie for dessert. Volunteers prepare the food, take orders and deliver plates of food to those dining in and it is also an all-volunteer group making the home deliveries.

Donations are accepted and will benefit the Escalon Ministerial Association. For more information, to volunteer or to donate in any way to the Thanksgiving Day effort, contact Dianna Dunn at 209-988-5006.
