Students in the Escalon Unified School District planning to take part in sports during the coming school year can take advantage of a low-cost physical clinic on the high school campus.
Scheduled for Tuesday, July 23 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the sports physical night will be hosted in the Escalon High School cafeteria. Cost is $20, payable by cash or check. All ages are welcome, said EHS Athletic Director Andrew Beam, and students wishing to take part in school sports must have a physical prior to participation.
Meanwhile, the next day, local youngsters can learn some new skills at a one-day Summer Basketball Youth Skills Clinic. That event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 24 at Escalon High School. The clinic is limited to a maximum of 30 players per session with two different sessions available. Incoming sixth through eighth grade players will meet from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the EHS gym; incoming fourth and fifth graders will meet from noon to 2 p.m.
Cost is $25 if registered before July 24; cost is $30 the day of the clinic.
