If you want to get in some swimming this summer, there’s just a little more time to do so at the Escalon Community Pool. Final day for public swimming at the pool is Friday, Aug. 2. The final session of swimming lessons for the summer recently wrapped up and, with the heat now turning up, pool officials anticipate a busy final couple of weeks. Public swim is offered 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at a cost of $2 per person. Attendance has averaged about 80 swimmers per day. Also, Aquatic Discount Scuba in Escalon is offering its Introduction to Scuba program at the pool on Saturday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost is $15 for ages 10 and up for the intro to scuba diving; bring a towel, swim suit and sunscreen to class. Register online at
