Longtime Escalon Police Officer David Armendariz was presented with a certificate of recognition from Mayor Robert Swift at the Sept. 16 Escalon City Council meeting, noting his retirement from the department. Armendariz began his law enforcement career in Stanislaus County as a reserve with the Sheriff’s Department in 1992. Other stops included Chula Vista, Newman, Modesto and the Stanislaus County Probation Department. He joined the Escalon Police Department in March of 2002 and closed out his career there after more than 17 years on the force.
