In town, and open Wednesdays and Saturdays, the Escalon Historical Society Museum has put together special gift items for the holiday season.

The ‘Merry Month of Christmas Museum Sale’ runs through Wednesday, Dec. 21. Sales of items at the gift shop help to support the museum, and the holiday specials are offered during regular hours, noon to 4 p.m. each Wednesday and Saturday at the museum, 1630 Main St., Escalon.

There are children’s themed gift bags of train totes and grandma’s closet; goody-filled Norman Rockwell mugs, handmade Christmas stockings, vintage nutcrackers and a variety of other items. Historical books are for sale, there are T-shirts, puzzles and even the opportunity to purchase a commemorative brick as a way to support the museum and help preserve the city’s history.
