SPAGHETTI SATURDAY

Crews were busy first thing Saturday morning, Jan. 26 at the Escalon United Methodist Church, getting all the ingredients ready for their annual fundraising spaghetti dinner. Shown, John Weeks stirs up one of the huge pots of sauce inside the kitchen while outside, Duane Cornella keeps a close eye on the “best spaghetti in Escalon” during the boiling process. The dinner typically draws a large crowd and proceeds help finance a variety of church programs. Those attending also had the chance to purchase the last few remaining jars of jams, jellies, relishes and frozen, ready to bake pies that were featured in the annual holiday bazaar hosted previously at the church.
