Set up for a 10 a.m. to noon shredding event in Escalon on Saturday, May 20, the Chamber of Commerce sponsored the program at the Main Street Park ‘n Ride. Here, resident Chris Hardin, at right, hands the first box of items to be shredded to Demetrius Crayton of Casey Moving Systems, which brought in the large mobile shredding truck. Chamber officials said the shredding day last year went well and they wanted to offer the service again; it was open for local residents to dispose of personal papers via the shredding machine.
