Second Season Starts For Volleyball, Flag Football
Cougars

Tuesday night, Oct. 24 will be a busy one for Cougar athletes, as both the varsity volleyball team and the varsity flag football squad open up the postseason.

Each team has a home game. Tickets for the games can be purchased on the GoFan website; visit https://gofan.co

Flag Football

For their inaugural season, the flag football varsity girls earned the number one seed in the Division 2 bracket. They will host the Falcons of Millennium High School with kickoff at 7 p.m. Tuesday on Engel Field. The snack bar will be open and head coach Steve Largent is hoping for a good turnout of fans to support the girls in this historic first season and first playoff game.

“Really looking forward to sharing the experience with Coach Riesenbeck and Coach Dalpogetti and the girls,” he said.

Volleyball

Escalon will host the Lathrop Spartans on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Lady Cougars come in ranked number four in Division 3 for the playoffs. They closed out the regular season with a gritty five-set win on the road against Hilmar on Oct. 18.

A first round victory on Tuesday night would see Escalon hosting a Thursday, Oct. 26 contest, taking on the winner of the Oakdale-Beyer playoff opener.
