School Reopening Town Hall With Harder, Mousalimas
coe

Scheduled for Wednesday, July 22 at 5:15 p.m., Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) will host a live telephone town hall with San Joaquin County Superintendent of Schools James Mousalimas to provide an update on local plans to reopen schools. Many local districts planned to open for in-person instruction, but the surge in coronavirus cases and an order handed down by Governor Gavin Newsom has put those plans on hold. As the landscape quickly changes, many parents are left wondering what the fall semester will look like for their children. Superintendent Mousalimas will provide an update on local schools at the top of the event and be available to answer questions throughout.

“The number one thing I’m hearing from parents is concern about when and how to reopen schools,” said Rep. Harder. “Man plans and God laughs – districts hoped to get kids safely back in schools, but those plans have been thrown into chaos because of the spike in cases. I want to make sure parents have some idea of what comes next and Superintendent Mousalimas is the best person to provide those answers.”

The event will take place on July 22 at 5:15 p.m. PST. Constituents can call into the event at 1-888-886-6603.

Since the week of March 9th, Rep. Harder has held more than a dozen public events to allow his constituents to stay in touch and get help regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. These events have included six previous telephone town halls, one of which was bilingual, Facebook Live town halls, a webinar with over 300 small business owners, and a webinar with Valley farmers and agricultural business owners.
