Graduation ceremonies are being planned next Wednesday through Friday, May 28 through 30, on the campus of Escalon High School.

First, Vista High School will have its senior graduation ceremony on Wednesday, May 28 at 6 p.m., and El Portal Middle School will have its eighth-grade promotion ceremony there on Thursday, May 29 at 7 p.m.

Escalon High School students will take center stage on Friday, May 30 at 7 p.m., for graduation ceremonies on Engel Field in Memorial Stadium. This year’s graduating class at EHS has a pair of co-Valedictorians, as Kali Castellanos and Emma Berchtold have been named as the top two graduates.

Also coming up, Escalon Unified School District seniors will be able to attend their grad night party on May 30, as the Sober Grad committee is putting finishing touches on that celebration.

Donations are still being sought, as organizers want to make sure each senior attending goes home with a gift card in addition to being eligible for a number of other prizes.

Especially needed are $10 gift cards for locations such as Dutch Bros., In-N-Out, Yogurt Mill and the like.

“We are collecting donations to make our event a success,” Coordinator Krysten Lial said. “We need both monetary contributions as well as $10 gift card donations.”

For those that want to donate money, you can send the donations in; make checks payable to “EHS Sober Grad” and send them to Escalon High, Attn: Sober Grad, 1528 Yosemite Ave., Escalon, CA 95320.

Volunteers to help work at the Sober Grad Night are needed as well, those interested in volunteering can email Lial at klial@escalonusd.org.

Sober Grad is scheduled for Friday, May 30 from 9:30 p.m. to Saturday, May 31 at 3 a.m.; it will be hosted on the campus of Escalon High School, with indoor and outdoor activities, in addition to food, beverages, music and more.
