SAVE Water Resources Act Takes Major Step Forward
Harder

Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) announced Monday that his SAVE Water Resources Act will receive a hearing on Thursday, June 13 in the U.S. House of Representatives’ Water, Oceans, and Wildlife Subcommittee. Holding a hearing on a bill is part of the “regular order” process which has laid the groundwork for the passage of dozens of other bills this Congress. This hearing signals interest in Rep. Harder’s bill from committee leadership and increases the chances the bill will proceed to a vote by the full House of Representatives.

“The Central Valley has been left behind for too long but now that’s changing,” said Rep. Harder. “In this hearing I’ll have the chance to advocate for our bipartisan bill and get our community the infrastructure we need to grow and secure our water supply.”

Anthea Hansen, General Manager of the Del Puerto Water District, will testify in favor of the SAVE Water Resources Act. Rep. Harder worked to ensure that Hansen received an invitation to speak on the Central Valley’s water needs. Rep. Harder’s bill would provide federal investments for local projects in the Del Puerto Water District and make dozens of vital investments and improvements to federal water programs.
