All business, this youngster stayed focused on the finish line for the Saturday, Feb. 9 Color Run in Escalon, nearing the end of the course on First Street.

With over 350 participants, the third annual Color Run hosted by the Escalon Educational Foundation was a resounding success on Saturday, Feb. 9.

Though rain had fallen overnight, leaving the city streets a little slick, there were no raindrops falling on those taking part in the one-mile and 5k races on Saturday morning. Participants had a pre-race warm up session of stretching, had the chance to take some pre-race photos, then toed the line and set off from El Portal Middle School along the race routes. Along the way, plenty of volunteers helped fire off the brightly colored cornstarch to provide the color for the color run.

Orange, red, green, blue – runners coming back across the finish line had newly decorated shirts to take home and enjoy, while the event itself raised money for a variety of educational purposes within the Escalon Unified School District.
