San Joaquin County RTD Introducing Van Program
RTD

San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) will announce the launch of a new pilot program, “RTD Van Go!” at a series of events this month.

RTD Van Go! is a new ride-share service that will help residents travel more easily within Northern San Joaquin County. RTD will launch the limited pilot program in October and expand the program throughout San Joaquin County beginning in January 2019.

“Tailor-made-trips are a click or call away with RTD Van Go!,” said RTD CEO Donna DeMartino. “Residents start where they are and go where they want, fast. This connected service combines vans and free transfers to buses to continue longer trips. Unlike some other transportation options, RTD Van Go! will even pick up passengers in rural San Joaquin County.”

Every RTD Van Go! vehicle is wheelchair accessible and Van Go! drivers are trained, licensed, and fully prepared to help with accessibility needs.

To ride RTD Van Go! starting on October 1, consumers will download the Ecolane app from the Apple App Store or Google Play OR visit sjRTD.com/VanGo. They will also be able to call 1-800-For-Ride (800-367-7433) to learn more or reserve a ride.

RTD will send representatives to share details about RTD Van Go! at several events around the county. Those events include: Monday, Sept. 17, 7 p.m., Chamber of Commerce Meeting, Farmers and Merchants Bank, Community Service Room, 18836 E. Main St., Linden; Wednesday, Sept. 19, 7 p.m., Lodi City Council Meeting, 305 W. Pine St, Lodi; Thursday, Sept. 20, 7 p.m., Municipal Advisory Committee Meeting, Lockeford Community Center, 19258 N. Jack Tone Road, Lockeford and Thursday, Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m., Municipal Advisory Committee Meeting, Fire Station Training Room, 400 E. Augusta St., Woodbridge.

Rides cost $5 per trip during the RTD Van Go! introductory period in Northern San Joaquin County starting on Oct. 1. Details will be available on sjRTD.com/VanGo. The service will be available seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
