A holiday tradition in Escalon, members of the Escalon Sunrise Rotary Club have joined forces with a pair of churches to serve up some holiday treats to local senior citizens.

The event is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Escalon United Methodist Church, 2000 Jackson Ave., at the corner of Highway 120 and Brayton.

Rotarian Duane Lovett said those seniors who would like to participate can still get in on the festivities; there is limited seating but some spots are still open. Those wishing to attend can contact Jordon at 209-838-6417; Ray, 209-493-8998; John, 209-470-2660 or Duane at 209-996-7120 to sign up.

There will be food, entertainment and gifts for all attendees. The Rotary Club is working in cooperation with Escalon United Methodist Church and the Seventh Day Adventist Church to ‘bring the joy and magic’ of the holidays to local seniors.

Transportation can also be arranged for those seniors that need it; the evening includes plenty of prize drawings, gift bags, a holiday meal, fellowship and fun. Seniors from Escalon and the surrounding areas are invited.
