Railtown 1897 State Historic Park and the California State Railroad Museum Foundation are pleased to welcome guests aboard the historic Sierra Railway for evening holiday themed train rides.

The Railtown Santa Express will run on Friday and Saturday evenings from Friday, Nov. 27 through Saturday, Dec. 19.

Guests on these special excursions will delight in the decorated coaches, a socially distanced appearance by the big man in the red suit, a reading of the famed poem, The Night Before Christmas, and lots of holiday cheer. After the ride patrons will be greeted with a sweet treat and the decorated roundhouse will be open to tour.

Departures begin Nov. 27 and two departures (5 p.m. and 7 p.m.) will be offered each Friday and Saturday evening. To aid in social distancing, tickets will only be available in groups of four seats. A family four pack of tickets is priced at $100. Please note that seating is very limited for this special event.

Public ticket sales are underway. For more information, visit https://www.railtown1897.org/
