Two separate budget workshops are scheduled for Tuesday, June 4 in Escalon, at the City Council Chamber focusing on the proposed 2024-25 fiscal year city budget.
The first workshop is set for 3 p.m. while the second gets underway at 6 p.m.
Mayor David Bellinger will call each session to order, which will be followed by an overview of the proposed city budget. There will then be a time for public comment, as the council looks for suggestions and/or questions from residents regarding the proposed spending plan.
Each meeting will follow the same format; officials hope to make it convenient for residents to get to one of the sessions, offering both the afternoon and early evening workshop times.
City Council Chambers are in City Hall, 2060 McHenry Ave.; the meeting will also be live streamed on YouTube or you can join in on your computer, tablet or smartphone with the ‘gotomeeting’ app.
There will be no action taken on the budget at the workshops; they are informational only. The council will be addressing – and potentially adopting – the budget at a regular meeting later this month. The city’s fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30.
