Recently the Escalon Museum was honored with a visit from Debbie Doss and her daughter from Folsom, who are descendants of John Wheeler Jones, founder of Escalon. Hours were spent viewing pictures and newspaper articles Debbie had never seen. Diana Holtz, who with her husband, own and live in the Jones Mansion which they purchased in 1975 from the widow of Dr. Philip von Hungen, was kind enough to bring memorabilia given to her by the granddaughter of Mr. Jones. Debbie Doss became a member of The Escalon Historical Society as a result of her trip to the museum and plans to return for future visits.
