MJC

Modesto Junior College Workforce Development has scheduled a “Get Started on a New Career” information meeting for the Pharmacy Technician program on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. in John Muir Hall, room 260, on West Campus, 2201 Blue Gum Ave., Modesto. The training program prepares students for an entry-level position as a licensed technician for a retail or hospital pharmacy. The goal is to provide quality instruction and produce a qualified technician to meet the demands of a fast growing occupation. The program begins in spring 2019 and is designed to be completed in 10 to 12 months. The cost of the program includes all textbooks, lab coat, background check, drug screening, insurance, and BLS certification.

The information meeting will review prerequisites, cost of program and current admission requirements, which include passing a math exam, meeting a reading requirement and submitting an application packet.

A math entrance exam is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. in Sierra Hall, room 223. Reservations are required for the exam and attendees must bring a photo I.D. with them. Seating is limited. Community members may reserve a seat for both the Oct. 2 meeting and the Oct. 16 exam by calling (209) 575-7889.
