Think Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, but with a bit more finesse. Come out and join the Second Annual Mark and Tony’s Margarita Run, scheduled on Sunday morning, Aug. 26, at Lake Camanche’s south shore.

Participants will have a choice of three trail-run distances, an 8K, 8-Mile or a Half Marathon. The choices give runners of all abilities the chance to participate and take their trail running to the next level, but there will be some challenging terrain. After hitting the trails, runners can join Mark (On Your Mark Events) and Tony (Fleet Feet Stockton/Modesto) for post-race festivities that include freshly made margaritas and fajitas.

Along with lunch and beverages, participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and enjoy the awards ceremony. Overall male/female awards will be given out three-deep in each age group, in 10-year age brackets.

Entry fees for 8K or 8-Mile are $45 per person, with the Half Marathon priced at $65. Participants can download and mail in a check, or register online. Race-day registration price increases $5.

All three trail runs are headquartered at Lake Camanche South Shore staging area – 11700 Wade Lane, Wallace, California. (This site is no more than a 30-minute drive from Stockton or Lodi.) Race-day registration and check in will begin at 6:30 a.m., with all three races following at 8 a.m.

These events include runs, duathlons, triathlons, bike races, swimming competitions, and track and field meets.
