Transit Options Workshops Set
escalon

The City of Escalon will be hosting a public workshop to discuss how to improve public transit services within the City limits and to/from Modesto.

“As part of the workshop, the City will be discussing options for service delivery, including enhanced dial-a-ride, new routing to serve Modesto, improved partnerships with San Joaquin RTD for services to Manteca/Stockton and the Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station, participating in a pilot with Uber and/or Lyft, and/or changing the hours and days that eTrans operates transit services,” said City transit Coordinator John Andoh.

The workshops are scheduled for Monday, May 15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and again during the regular Escalon City Council meeting at 7 p.m., at the Escalon City Hall, City Council Chambers, 2060 McHenry Ave.

“The consultant team – Jarrett Walker and Associates – as well as Publictransit.us will be on hand to take feedback, present the service options and answer any questions about the proposed Short Range Transit Plan which would include options for transit service delivery,” noted Andoh.

eTrans will operate dial-a-ride service to the evening meeting at 7 p.m. and bring riders back home after the meeting. Call (209) 541-6645, now through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to request service to the evening meeting on Monday, May 15.
