Transit District Sets Christmas, New Years Day Bus Services

San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) will not operate its regular fixed-routes, Dial-A-Ride, and commuter services on Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 25 and New Year’s Day, Monday, Jan. 1.

RTD’s administrative offices, Downtown Transit Center (DTC), and call center will also be closed.

To accommodate customers during this time, a limited, demand-response service will be available by reservation only on a first-come, first-served basis. The fare per one-way trip for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) certified customers is $3 and $5 per one-way trip for non-ADA customers.

For Christmas Day service, reservations will be accepted between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. now through Friday, Dec. 22. For New Year’s Day service, reservations will be accepted between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Tuesday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 29. Reservations will be limited to one round trip per passenger and can be made by calling (209) 955-8400.

Additionally, on Christmas Eve, Sunday, Dec. 24 and New Year’s Eve, Sunday, Dec. 31, RTD services will operate on a weekend schedule.

Regional Transit District will resume regular weekday service and administrative offices, RTD’s call center and the DTC will reopen on Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Tuesday, Jan. 2, respectively.
