Escalon Chamber of Commerce brings back its popular Sunday in the Park series of events this weekend, with the ‘Spring into Spring’ festivities running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the city’s Main Street Park on Sunday, May 1.

Officials said there will be Mother’s Day craft activities for youngsters including decorating of flower pots and planting of flowers and help from Oak Valley Art Society members to make homemade Mother’s Day cards. There will be popcorn provided by the Escalon Historical Society, music by Rich C. Olds, face painting by Sonya Huff and fun for the whole family. The community is encouraged to join in and enjoy sunshine and great spring weather. June 5 and Aug. 7 are future Sunday in the Park dates for the summer months.

In addition, the Chamber will host its next mixer and ribbon cutting at the Escalon Library on Monday, May 9 at 5:30 p.m., welcoming the Steam House Coffee Company as a Chamber member. The business is in Modesto, but has joined the Escalon Chamber and is reportedly looking to expand to an Escalon location as well.

Also in the planning stages, Chamber officials are gearing up for the annual Wine Stroll, which this year will have a Country and Western theme.

Date for the popular downtown event is Friday, May 13 and pre-sale tickets are available now for $25, at downtown businesses or from the Chamber website, escalonchamberofcommerce.org.

Tickets at the event are $30 and the Wine Stroll runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with wine, food, music, craft booths, socializing and fun. More information is available by contacting Annie at Cromwell & Ney at 209-838-3561 or Pat at the Chamber, 209-838-2783.
