Students Show Safety Smarts In Caltrans School Challenge

Caltrans challenged California high schoolers to create their own on-campus traffic safety events to educate peers about safe driving and become ambassadors for reducing and eliminating deaths caused by distracted driving near highway work zones.

First place went to Inderkum High School, Sacramento, $2000 grant; second place to New Technology High School, Napa, $1000 grant; and, third place to Foothill Technology High School, Ventura, $500 grant.

All grant funds were donated by iHeart Media.
