Van Allen Elementary School hosted a pair of performances for parents, siblings, classmates and community members on Friday, offering their 2015 Christmas Program.
The roughly 45-minute program was performed two times, making sure parents of all students involved had the opportunity to attend the festivities.
The Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes were up first, with the Chubby Little Snowman poem and songs including Christmas Time and Silent Night. First graders performed The Dreidel and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Songs from the second grade included Frosty the Snowman and In Summer. Jingle Bell Rock and Let There Be Peace on Earth were performed by the third grade, which also presented excerpts from The Grinch poem. Fourth graders sang Soul Cake and performed a dance to Christmas Time’s A Coming. Rounding out the holiday program were the fifth grade students, singing Holly Jolly Christmas and Let It Snow, along with dancing.
Principal Talmage Allen welcomed the crowd and thanked the various contributors to the event, with the school’s multipurpose room festively decorated and plenty of refreshments provided for attendees to enjoy after the performances.
