It was a celebration at Emil’s to mark the switch to a Chevron gas station as part of the offerings of local businessman, Chacko Thomas. Top photo, representatives of Chevron draw a winning ticket in one of their many prize drawings on Friday while, at side, Tino Ceballos of Valley Pacific, the area Chevron distributor, flips the tortillas that he is grilling up for patrons to use in making free tacos. Thomas said the taco bar was offered on Friday, while Saturday was to feature a steak and salad spread to celebrate the new affiliation. BBQ hours were 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both Friday and Saturday and the Grand Opening event also featured a 10-cent discount on gas and additional discounts in the store.
