Safe, Sane Fireworks Booths Prepare For Tuesday Opening

Escalon residents will soon be able to purchase fireworks for the Fourth of July holiday, with four fireworks booths opening in the city next week.

The state fire-marshal approved ‘Safe and Sane’ fireworks are legal for use in the city and each year, organizations hoping to run one of the available booths are put into a random drawing.

This year, the community groups and their booth locations are:

Escalon High School FFA Ag Boosters, working in cooperation with the American Legion, booth adjacent to Big Boy Market, along Jackson Avenue.

Escalon High School Sports Boosters at MarVal Main Street Market on McHenry Avenue.

Escalon Covenant Church, The Barn, Highway 120 just west of the railroad tracks on the west end of the city.

One booth is always set aside by the City of Escalon and will be run by the Escalon Parks Foundation, with proceeds benefiting the ongoing Escalon Skate Park project. That booth is along Jackson Avenue, in front of D’Boni’s Pizza.

The fireworks booths have already been set up and can open for business on Tuesday, June 28 and stay open through midnight on Monday, July 4.
