PROJECT UNDERWAY
church work

After an earlier symbolic groundbreaking by the youth and long-term members of the Escalon Presbyterian Church on First Street in May, the formal start of the expansion at the facility has begun. Expansion is actually behind the church, and the project will first include construction of a new multi-purpose room, followed by remodeling of some other buildings on site and expansion of the sanctuary. Preliminary design approval for the new building came from the city last August, with final bids coming in earlier this year and the groundbreaking set. Total project cost is estimated at over $1.4 million.
