Nilsen Returns To Perform In Concert

Internationally acclaimed musician John Nilsen will perform in concert at the Escalon United Methodist Church on Sunday, Aug. 20 starting at 2 p.m.

John Nilsen, internationally acclaimed pianist, guitarist, vocalist, and composer, will appear in Escalon again, performing his much-anticipated piano concert on Sunday, Aug. 20 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Escalon United Methodist Church, EUMC.

“John is an amazing pianist,” exclaimed EUMC Pastor Peggy Bosch. “We are honored and excited to be able to sponsor this concert again and encourage all of our friends and neighbors in the Escalon community to take advantage of this opportunity to see a wonderful musician and hear a great show. The concert is free, but a goodwill offering will be taken to help defray his expenses. Come join us, bring a friend. You’ll be so glad you did!”

Nilsen lives with his family in Oregon, and travel, the outdoors and family are rich sources of inspiration for him. He brings songs of life to his audience through his performances. He averages 225 performances a year both as a solo artist and with his two bands, SWIMFISH and the John Nilsen Trio, touring all over the United States, in Europe and Asia. He’s earned a devout international following of listeners and his Magic Wing recording label has successful titles with international distribution in countries including Germany, Great Britain, the Philippines, Canada, Taiwan and Singapore, bringing total record sales to well over one million copies.

Nilsen has appeared with such artists as Jose Feliciano, Jesse Colin Young, Kenny G, Alex DeGrassi, Montreaux and David Foster. His recordings are featured on numerous musical collections and samplers throughout the globe.
