After several months of work, Escalon Unified School District has launched a new website. The new www.escalonusd.org was guided by parent and community needs as well as best practices. A variety of survey data was used as well as information about how to make the site more accessible for those with a disability.
The new site was also developed with a mobile-first approach, understanding that a majority of users will visit the website from their phone as opposed to a desktop computer.
“We focused on the overall experience we wanted users to have when visiting our district website: engaging, informative, and user-friendly,” said Superintendent Ron Costa. “We want users to engage with the site, find relevant information and be able to quickly access the resources they need to support our students.”
The new website is interactive and gives better access to a district-wide calendar, department contact lists, the latest news and the district’s Facebook posts. The goal is to foster improved communication with everyone involved with Escalon Unified schools, added Costa. Escalon USD school websites will be getting make-overs this summer as well.
