Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the Escalon Lions Club, as the local organization serves up its annual Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner at the Escalon Community Center on Thursday night, March 17.

Happy hour will begin at 6 p.m. and the traditional St. Patrick’s Day meal begins at 7 p.m.

“We think it’s the 50th, that’s what we’re calling it,” said Lions Club member Robert Swift, who isn’t the chairperson this year but has served in that capacity in the past. “Tickets should be available at the door.”

The tickets are $20 and for those that want to get them ahead of time, stop by Escalon Body and Frame, get them from any Lions Club member or contact Swift at 595-5013.

“There is takeout also and there will be signs that point you to the takeout drive-thru line, you don’t even have to get out of your car,” noted Swift.

There are benefits, however, to dining in for the St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

“Inside we will have entertainment, raffle drawings, lots of goodies, complimentary wine on the tables,” said Swift.

The annual corned beef feed is a popular event, which in turn helps the community.

“All the proceeds go back into community projects of the Lions Club,” Swift said.

The Community Center is at 1055 Escalon Ave.
