The League of Women Voters of San Joaquin County will host its annual kickoff event on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 808 Porter Ave., Stockton.
The free event serves as an opportunity for members of LWVSJC and the general public to help celebrate the start of the new membership year, learn about the League’s priorities for the upcoming year, meet local members, and share a light lunch with other guests and the keynote speaker, San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters Melinda Dubroff.
Dubroff was appointed by the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors in May of 2017. She comes to San Joaquin County after serving in San Mateo County for almost 18 years. At the kickoff event, Dubroff will speak to guests about San Joaquin County’s vision for voter services and more. Guests will also hear about her experience with public relations, social media, policy and procedural development, and voter outreach, and her plans to use these skills to increase voter participation and civic literacy in San Joaquin County.
“We look forward to welcoming our New Registrar of Voters to San Joaquin County and discussing ways in which the League can help further the goals of greater voter participation in San Joaquin County,” said LWVSJC President Christeen Ferree.
Guests can RSVP for the free event by emailing LWVSJC@gmail.com or by calling (209) 931-3699.
