HOPPY HUNTING The start to the Escalon Kiwanis Club annual Easter Egg Hunt, top photo, draws an intense rush to glory for these local youths at El Portal Middle School on Saturday. The weather cooperated, with a cool breeze and sunny skies greeting hunters for the 10 a.m. start time. Rain arrived later in the day but all the eggs were safely gathered by then. The hunt itself had four different areas set up, based on age, and the kids hit the ground running. Below, the Biedermann family takes time to catalog their bounty after a successful hunt, which this year featured both the traditional hard-boiled and plastic colored Easter eggs.
