Keeping with their mission to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research, Oakdale-Riverbank-Escalon branch of American Association of University Women, AAUW, will host a program presented by Debbie Soro Adair. The program is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. and will be hosted in a member’s home. Call 209-847-0271 to make reservations to attend or for more information.

Adair founded the HARRT program in 2015. Since its inception, the HARRT program has trained 41 youth leaders and peer educators who have collectively reached 7,411 Stanislaus County residents, (predominately youth) with their adolescent dating abuse prevention education and healthy relationships campaigns.

Adair is passionate about women and girls developing healthy and responsible relationships. She spoke to AAUW about HARRT (Healthy and Responsible Relations Troupe) several years ago and is back to update the group about its growth, development and expansion to Oakdale High School. She also brought the “Day of Respect” to Enochs High School and was selected as an Outstanding Woman of Stanislaus County by the Stanislaus County Commission for Women in 2016.
