The Operation Christmas Child program was once again successful in the local area, with donations of shoeboxes packed with gifts for youngsters around the glove. Here, volunteers Barbara Lyle and Joanna Hutchinson pack more boxes at Escalon Covenant Church, the collection site during National Collection Week. Church members donated 271 boxes, the community at large added another 338 for a total of 609 boxes from the Escalon area. They went to Manteca, then on to Southern California for further distribution.
