For one day, Escalon residents can have their Christmas tree picked up and hauled off by the Escalon Fire Department. There is no charge for the service, which will be offered this Saturday, Jan. 6.

Residents are asked to remove all tinsel and ornaments from the tree and take it out of the tree stand. Trees should be placed curbside before 6 a.m. on Saturday, so it’s best to place them outside on Friday night.

The fire department has done the one-day collection of trees for years.
